About ADC

• Australian Dental Council (ADC) is an independent organisation appointed by the Dental Board of Australia (DBA) to conduct assessment and accreditation functions for the dental professions.

The ADC Equivalency Process includes two assessments
• Dentist Written Examination
• Dentist Practical Examination


DENTIST WRITTEN EXAMINATION

• PAPER 1: Endodontics
• PAPER 2: PROSTHODONTICS
• PAPER 3: ORAL PATHOLOGY, ORAL SURGERY, INFECTION CONTROL
• PAPER 4: ORTHODONTICS, PEDODONTICS, PERIODONTICS, PREVENTIVE DENTISTRY

• PASS or FAIL result. To be awarded a PASS in the written examination, candidates must PASS all four written papers.
• The Results Profile also provides a grade for each paper attempted. Grades A, B and C are PASS grades and grades D and E are FAIL grades.


DENTIST PRACTICAL EXAMINATION

Student has to perform the following exercises:
• the preparation of a carious tooth/teeth
• the restoration of a prepared tooth/teeth with resin composite
• the restoration of a prepared tooth/teeth with amalgam
• the preparation and/or temporisation of a tooth/teeth to receive an indirect restoration(s)
• an endodontic procedure.
